Child
Care - Serving Children since 1950
History
Central Child Care has strong ties to the community and to the vision of two women, twin sisters, Viola Carlson and Alberta Pearson. Their vision for a child care program designed to meet the needs of the community was realized in March of 1950. This program continues to operate today, over half a century later. Viola Carlson served as the first director. She and Alberta have been valued supporters of our program. Viola, at age 93, died peacefully on January 14, 2012. She is missed by her family, church family and child care family.
Today
We follow Viola’s example by providing quality Early Childhood Christian Education in our community. Children age 6 weeks through 12 years enjoy developmentally appropriate programming.
We are a Parent Aware program and a Project Early Kindergarten preschool. Our center is open Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Child care options of two to five full days are available for children age 6 weeks-5 years. A before and after school program is available for school age children. Kid’s League, our summer program for school age, runs from the middle of June through the last full week in August.
We are a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and licensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services. We do not discriminate for admission on the basis of race, sex, religion, creed, national origin or source of payment.
