For the past ten years, Central Baptist Church has bee committed to providing children with two afternoons each week of supervised tutoring and homework assistance. We offer a safe, nurturing and fun atmosphere where children receive individualized attention in the areas they need most to grow academically and socially.
For over 100 years, Central Baptist Church has been a vital part of the midway neighborhood, seeking to identify and meet community needs. In the tradition of our fifty five plus years of childcare, quality children’s and youth programming have long been a focus.
Central Baptist Church also offers full programming for men, women, seniors, and families; as well as, Sunday worship, weekly community meals, mid-week programming for all ages, Sunday school, community work projects, food shelf outreach, partnership with local organizations that serve the homeless and much more.
We are committed to serving in and throughout our community and look forward to our tenth year of quality after-school tutoring.
Each tutor is screened for your child's safety. Tutors, under the direction of the coordinator, will assess each students academic needs and create an individualized plan to meet them.
Communication with parents and teachers are a key component of this program and parents are encouraged to get to know their child's tutor.

Students in our program are from diverse backgrounds, ethnically, economically, religiously, and socially.
We seek to empower the whole child through confidence building in; academics, social interactions, self-image and spiritual development.
Students receive one on one attention during the academic time, social interaction during game time, as well as positive mentoring from our trained tutors. Each student is assigned a prayer partner from the congregation who is committed to praying for a student throughout the academic year.
We meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 - 6:00 pm. The program is open to students grades K through 6. Transportation can be arranged. This service is free of charge. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Consistent regular attendance is required for your child's benefit. We follow the St. Paul School Calendar for days in session. Regular pizza parties encourage interaction between child's family, tutor and prayer partners.
Please send inquiry to Terri Hansen at 651-646-2751. We would love to see your child be part of our program.
