In 2004, Central Baptist Church made a bold move and established Central Community Services, Inc. (CCSI), a separate 501c3 non-profit. Through CCSI, the church is better able to address the needs of the community, access outside resources, and develop community partnerships. CCSI operates with their own Executive Director, Board and annual budget. Terri Hansen has directed CCSI since 2007.

After School @ Central
Monday- Friday 2-6pm
After school @ Central began in 1996 as a two afternoons per week tutoring program. In 2011, AS@C came completely under the umbrella of CCSI. Serving students in grades K-5. AS@C has expanded to 5 days a week, from 2-6 pm and employs a full time lead teacher as well as volunteers from local colleges. Thus, allowing us to offer individual learning and caring relations to students. Most of our students are from the Hamline Elementary in the Midway neighborhood. Contact Grace Koehn, program director and lead teacher to enroll or volunteer.
Lead CCSI teacher
On wednesdays @ 4:30pm, both middle and high school students can come and receive tutoring in math and general assistance with their homework. Teens are also given leadership and skill building opportunities by working with younger children during specific weekdays. To enroll students grades 6-12 contact Terri Hansen.
The Sheridan Story
CCSI also partners with The sheridan Story. TSS provides meals to help close the weekend food gap for neighborhood children. We are able to specifically support Hamline Elementary through TSS financially and by providing volunteers to do weekly meal distribution at the school. Please contact Terri Hansen to volunteer or donate.
Every December CCSI hosts a Christmas Toy Shop for community families. This dignified gift program allows parents to select gifts for their own children, while only paying for a small fraction of the cost. Cash and gift donations are accepted year round. Families who wish to access the Christmas Central shop may begin registering Nov. 1st by contacting Terri Hansen, , or by calling 651-470-9697.
