Update from the Board of Stewards
Greetings Central Family,
Happy Summer! I hope this finds you all healthy and well.
I haven’t brought you an update in a few weeks, but rest assured much is happening behind the scenes. The Board has been extremely busy with a number of pressing items; I’m fairly certain they are all tired of my text and email messages of late!
We are very close to delivering news to you regarding our Intentional Interim Pastor; please be in prayer for us as we finalize important details and documents. We are excited to share the news with you as soon as we are able.
The Staff have been hard at work preparing for the regathering of Sunday Worship, as well as Youth Ministry. I know we have all grown weary of living in a Covid-19 world. Unfortunately, this virus has not grown weary, and the reality of those challenges will be with us for many months to come. The Staff and Board are working on all the important directives for our community to follow so that we can safely regather; our online worship will continue as well. It won’t look the same as we’re used to, but we will celebrate and praise God nonetheless!
Please pray for protection as we move into this next phase of welcoming folks back into our physical building, and as Pastor Chuck and his wonderful volunteers work to love and serve our Youth in safe and creative ways.
Finally, our Fiscal Year End is next Tuesday June 30. Our offering last Sunday was the lowest to date. Thanks for your ongoing support of the ministry of Central Baptist Church. God has been faithful to us for many years, and we see His hand in preparing us for the future, and we place our hope and trust in Him alone.
It is an overwhelming task and a humble honor to serve this church. On behalf of the entire Board of Stewards, I thank you for the trust you have placed in us.
“And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time.” Jude 1:24-25 MSG
Yours In Christ,
Catherine Westby Chair, Board of Stewards
