Update on Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry on the Move!
By permission of the Board of Stewards, our youth ministry has taken advantage of the great weather and opened up one of its ministries this summer, “HEADING OUTSIDE!”
Practicing CDC & State recommendation’s, along with church board requirements has been challenging, but the work has been worth it in order to be safe AND to have opportunity to have Bible study and time with our youth.
We will be meeting for our FOURTH of seven times tonight in two outdoor locations to maximize numbers and health—in our church’s new parking lot and at Margaret Park, on the Eastside.
Our schedule goes something like this...
6:15 Staff set up
6:30 GREET students with a bottle
of water, friendly interaction
6:50 Socially distant, non-shared
equipment GAME, to build
7:10 Easy READ THROUGH lesson
7:50 TREAT & farewell
8:00 Staff head on out
Because we have not met for so long & have missed our rhythm of regular gatherings, and because we cannot yet use our vehicles for pickups (social distancing), it’s been challenging to get students out. But with the TWO LOCATIONS and the commitment of our 10 VOLUNTEERS, students have been finding their way to each site—up to 8-10 students at each location. That’s great news!
As Central Baptist Church and its leadership continues to work though how we might safely & responsibly take slow & methodical, intentional, steps in regathering, continue to PRAY for us wisdom and good decisions. Also continue to pray for one another’s continued safety, patience, and hunger to draw alongside God and to overflow that hunger to your neighbor.
God is good. All the time. Let us continue to remember that. Amen.
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
